Wisborough Green is a lovely village. The villagers are friendly and relaxed. The village itself is spotless. There are litter bins everywhere. The public lavatories are exceptional. I cannot remember the last time I saw public conveniences in such a pristine condition. There is not so much as a scratch of graffiti anywhere!
In the morning, I wandered over to the pavilion as it looked open. It wasn’t, but the cleaning lady was there. She said that I was welcome to sit at the tables outside for as long as I chose. She also gave me the wi-fi connection details. When she stopped for a cup of tea, she made me one, too. Once I had caught up with the blog, etc., I wandered around the green.

In the afternoon, I popped into the village store cum post office. I wanted to get some local honey as there was a lot of pollen about. However, the honey was ridiculously expensive. I believe it is so priced because the person who supplies it is greedy. He’s clearly charging more than he needs to. I cannot remember the name of the supplier, but it’s a local man. I got talking to the shopkeeper/post mistress as I bought some ice cream. She told me that if I was to hang around until Wednesday, there would be home-cooked ham. She said that she would be cooking it to her own secret recipè. I didn’t need telling twice! So, I hung around for an extra day.
I spent the time relaxing and working on my blog. I sat and watched the pace of the village pass by. I chatted to some of the villagers and enjoyed the pleasant weather, which included a bright sunset.
On the Wednesday morning, I popped across to get my ham, plus some groceries. I then went into the café. It had been closed for a couple of days. It is run by a lovely Maltese-Italian fella. I had a hearty breakfast and bought some oat milk, which the shop had sold out of.
